Bob Kat II

Olin Stephens International 6 Metre

Bob Kat II first came to Ventis in 2015 for a new Hempel designed, Brasker Sitka Spruce racing mast. The new rig was stepped for the first time at the 2015 world championships. After an unfortunate racing incident during the regatta she returned to Ventis for some hull repairs and rig adjustments.

Since mid-2021 Bob Kat II is managed by Ventis and sailed out of Enkhuizen, The Netherlands. She will undergo further refit works in preparation for international racing in 2022.

"Bob Kat II was designed by Olin Stephens in 1931, when he was only 22, for Bob Meyer. Meyer was captain of the 1932 US team for the British-American Cup, where Bob Kat was the top scorer in the winning US team. She again formed one of the team for 1934, again being top scorer, and defended the Seawanhaka Cup for the US, beating Kyla in three straight races."
